Slowly…silently….shifting….shapelessly
She stumbled….into her shining
Shy…self-conscious…
Shadowed by shortcomings
She stumbled into her shining
Starving…startled…..stunted
She stumbled into her shining
Selfless…steadfast…self-assured
She stumbled into her shining
Silently………….she ROSE
Slowly…………..she TRIUMPHED
Shifting into her SHINING
Shapelessly becoming SELF.
Lunga started her theatrical career as an actress, appearing in several productions, including playing the lead in Winsome Pinnock’s ‘A Rock in Water‘ at the Royal Court Theatre. Lunga went on to train as a Director at Rose Bruford and has since directed several plays including; ‘Incompatibly Yours’ Pegasus Theatre and Lyric , ‘The Thing About Shirley’ , Hackney Empire. ‘Become A Man’, Hackney Empire and City Hall, ‘Jesus Loves Me’ Bussey Theatre and ‘Pumpkin Soup for the Soul’ Chats Palace.
Lunga is thrilled with the success of BREAK-THRU PRODUCTIONS first play ‘Shame and Scandal’ starring Curtis Walker and Yvette Rochester-Duncan. Lunga’s sell out debut play ‘BROKEN’ received a warm and positive reception and we are hoping to take the play on tour in the near future.
Lunga has now ventured into the world of film and has written and directed ‘It’s On!’ screened at the Bang film festival and ‘Cutting Edge’ screened at the BFI Southbank. Lunga’s current short ‘Disposable Angels’ has won Best Women’s Film at the Crown International Film Festival (India) and has been selected for screening at the Cannes Short Film Festival, Fortean Film Festival, South Films and Arts Academy Film Festival and has received an Honourable Mention at the Athens International Film Festival.
