Dream Catchers: Marvel Opara

Courage at new heights.

The first film in the Dream Catchers documentary series follows Marvel Opara; adventurer, pioneer, and mother.
Losing her sight at the age of four, Marvel refused to let disability define her. Undeterred, she became the first Black British woman to conquer Mount Kilimanjaro, fulfilling a lifelong dream and inspiring others to chase their own.

Her story won the Women CineMakers Award (Berlin), celebrated for its powerful portrayal of resilience and the unbreakable human spirit.

As Marvel reflects:
“The reality of losing your sight is that you don’t just lose your sight; you could lose your independence, your income, your ability to get out and about, and the chance to do what you want to do.”

Dream Catchers: Christmas with Break-Thru & SLRRT

Compassion in crisis.

The second instalment of Dream Catchers highlights four NHS nurses from Sierra Leone, whose courage and compassion defined their response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Together, they founded the Sierra Leone Rapid Response Team, providing health advice, preparing and delivering meals, and supporting vulnerable members of their community during an unprecedented crisis.

With support from Break-Thru Productions, £200 in food vouchers were donated to single mothers via Pelican Food Bank, helping families through the challenges of the Christmas period.
