SHAME AND SCANDAL is the tale of an affluent Jamaican family consumed with keeping their financial legacy intact. Brimming with twists and turns, this dark comedy set in 1960s Jamaica sees the prodigal son Michael’s return home with his power hungry fiancée Sophia.

Milton and Diana put the young couple through their paces. As life-altering secrets are revealed tensions mount and they all battle to keep what they feel they rightfully deserve.

Curtis Walker

CURTIS WALKER

Curtis stars as Milton Lawson, the proud owner of a rum distillery in Jamaica; the wealthy Milton is headstrong, scandalous and devious with a capital D.  Curtis is a hugely popular and talented actor, writer and stand-up comedian. Curtis’ charismatic charm and comedy prowess has won audiences over throughout his career in the world of television, radio, film and of course stand-up.

Yvette stars as Mrs Diane Lawson. Yvette is an accomplished actress with a varied career in television, radio and the theatre.

Coren Lawrence

REN LAWRENCE

Ren will be playing Sophia Banton, a feisty, upwardly mobile young woman determined to carve a bright future for herself in the Lawson dynasty. Classically trained, Ren Lawrence has played roles from Shakespeare to Debbie Tucker Green to Sam Sheperd, working with and in major theatres such as The Royal National Theatre, The Globe and Hackney Empire Theatre, as well as in a couple of independent films, one of which was used in primetime TV.

Miss Lawrence trained at Rose Bruford College reading American Theatre Arts, spending a year at Stephen F Austin state university, where she was cast in Hairspray the Musical. She has had the privilege of working with Canadian born actress and director Michele Lonsdale Smith. Coren believes in expressing the joys of life and is furthering her work as a singer and lyricist.

Michael Lewis

MICHAEL LEWIS

Michael will be starring as Michael Lawson, the youngest son of Milton and Diana. On his return home with his ambitious fiancée Sophia, the young couple are confronted by startling family secrets.

Michael trained at Italia Conti and has the joy of working in such theatres as The Almeida, as well as various tours. He filmed his first feature film earlier this year called “Thea”, and is over the moon he gets to end the year performing for his first time at the Albany.
